Google now allows businesses to add social media links to their Business Profiles.
- Businesses can add one link for each platform.
- This helps small businesses become more visible within Google’s products.

Google has introduced a new feature that allows companies to directly add social media profile links to their Google Business Profiles.
This new option provides businesses with the opportunity to showcase their social media presence alongside other information in Google Search and Maps.
Having accessible social media links through Google Business Profiles offers businesses the advantage of connecting with customers more, acquiring information, and resolving issues.
New Feature Rollout
A new Google support page explains how businesses can now manage the display of social media links on their Google Business Profile.
Businesses have the ability to add one link per social media platform to their Business Profile. The supported platforms include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.
This feature is being gradually rolled out and is currently available in specific regions.
How to Utilize the New Feature
To include a social media link in your Google Business Profile, businesses should access their profile, click on ‘Edit Profile,’ then navigate to ‘Business Information,’ and finally, select ‘Contact.’
In the ‘Social profiles’ section, businesses can choose the social media platform they want to link and enter the web address.
The process of editing or removing a link is quite similar.
To edit a link, businesses should update the web address field for the designated social media link. To remove a link, simply click on the ‘Trash’ icon next to the social media profile that needs to be deleted.
Occasionally, Google automatically adds social media links to eligible Business Profiles. Businesses looking to modify these automatically added links can follow the same steps to add a new link for the same social media platform.
What This Means for Businesses
The capability to add social media links offers local business owners another avenue to enhance their presence within Google’s ecosystem.
In today’s landscape, consumers anticipate discovering social media and website links alongside local search results. Small and medium-sized enterprises can now compete with larger chains in delivering this seamless experience.
Businesses have the option to include the same social media link across multiple Business Profiles, but they cannot add distinct links from the same platform to a single profile.
This feature can be controlled individually for each business on Search or Maps or managed simultaneously for multiple locations through the API.
Please note that Google does not provide performance metrics such as click-through rates for these social media links.
